Payment methods are the saved cards we use to charge your subscription, your top-ups, and your auto-recharge. They’re stored by our payment processor; we never store full card numbers in our systems.
Add a payment method
Section titled “Add a payment method”Open Billing → Payment methods in the console. Click Add payment method to open the secure payment form. Enter the card number and complete any 3D Secure (SCA) challenge your bank requires. The card is verified with a zero-amount authorization and then saved to your account.
If verification fails, the card is not saved and you’ll see the decline reason. Try a different card or contact your bank.
Choose the card auto-recharge charges
Section titled “Choose the card auto-recharge charges”Auto-recharge charges the card you pick on the auto-recharge form on Billing, in the Auto-recharge card list. While auto-recharge is on, that card shows an Auto-recharge tag on Billing → Payment methods. To change it, pick another saved card on the form and save. Changing the card does not retry a payment that is already in flight.
Remove a payment method
Section titled “Remove a payment method”Click Remove on a saved card. If it is the card auto-recharge charges, removing it turns auto-recharge off, and we email you. To turn auto-recharge back on, add or pick another card, then switch auto-recharge on again on Billing. Removing any other card does not change auto-recharge.
Where payment methods are used
Section titled “Where payment methods are used”Saved cards are used in three places:
- Subscription: charged on the renewal date (monthly or annual).
- Top-up: you pay on the secure checkout page.
- Auto-recharge: charges the card you selected on the auto-recharge form automatically.
We monitor the expiry date of the card auto-recharge charges while auto-recharge is on. We email you before that card expires, so you can replace it before a charge fails, and again once it has expired.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Card was declined when I tried to add it: your card may be flagged on first use. Try again after a few minutes, or use a different card.
- My card expired and a recharge failed: add a new card, pick it on the auto-recharge form, and switch auto-recharge back on if it turned itself off.
- Auto-recharge turned off after I removed a card: you removed the card auto-recharge charges. Pick another saved card on the auto-recharge form and switch auto-recharge back on.
